SIREN SONG
WRITER & DIRECTOR
Music video for Kelso Jeans. When a young Siren finds themselves performing on stage to a group of invasive and prying audience members, they find peace and strength in the memories of their underwater ocean home in Siren Song.
Inspired by the imagery of The Great Wave of Kanagawa, Siren Song explores the traumas embedded in Queer, Asian, and POC folks living in North America. In recruiting predominantly POC members for our project and including subtle visual references to Asian imagery and tokenization within the music video, we sought to celebrate our heritage, grow awareness against systems of oppression, and shed light on Asian experiences.
