
Paula Ner Dormiendo is an award-winning Brampton/Toronto based director and editor, with a focus on community-driven storytelling and empathy-led productions.
Her first film on immigrant experiences and cultural disconnect, On The Fence, has been selected by more than 24
academy and screen award-qualifying showcases around the world, including WIFT, the Canadian Film Festival, Reelworld, NFFTY, and a national broadcast on CBC Gem.
As a commercial filmmaker, she has directed campaigns for Wealthsimple, MilkUP Ontario, and for the fastest growing film festival in Canada for emerging filmmakers, The Future of Film Showcase, screened at Scotiabank Theatre and was featured in an interview with Lamar Johnson on Global News.
She is an alumna of the Canon FUTURES Program run by industry-leading experts like Kim’s Convenience director, Justin Wu, and the WIFT Connect Mentorship under Peabody Award Winning Director, Karen Shopsowitz.

Her passion for community programming also extends to her work as co-facilitator for The Friendly Screenwriting Program, mentor for Flaunt It Movement, and as a VIBE Arts Toronto assistant facilitator.
Most recently, she was selected as one of 9 artists as part of Brampton Arts Organization's Artist Residency and VIBE Art’s Desire Lines Program in partnership with RBC and Pattison Sign Group, where her photography will be publicly exhibited at a showcase and select TTC subway station.
